Method of application

The surface must be clean, dry, and free from rust and dust. For a better and more durable bond a primed base is recommended. The surface and material temperature must be at least +5°С. At lower temperatures it is necessary to heat the adhesive side of the material and the base. It is not recommended to apply a strip to hot vertical surfaces (with a temperature above +85°C).

Description of material

NICOBAND™ DUO is a double-sided self-adhesive bitumen-polymer tape for sealing hidden seams and joints, for temporary fastening or for the simultaneous fixation and sealing of small elements. NICOBAND™ DUO consists of a bitumen-polymer layer of a special composition that provides good adhesion to virtually any surface. On both sides it is protected by polymer films, which are easily removed. The material is easy and convenient to apply. Has excellent adhesion to metal, concrete, plastic, asphalt, wood, glass, etc. NICOBAND DUO material can be used in all climatic zones (as determined in Construction Codes and Regulation (SNiP) 23-01-99*).

Storage

Store in a place protected from atmospheric precipitation and direct sunlight.

    Self-adhesive sealing band «NICOBAND™» is used in repairing and construction of houses and buildings. The main scopes of application are as follows:

  • Seams and joints sealing between two surfaces in constructions made of different materials (concrete, metal, brick, wood, plastic, etc.).
  • Making abutting joints on flat and sloping roofs.
  • Sealing roofing pressing bars and other roof bindings.
  • Leak-proof binding on roofs between slate sheets and metal tiles sheets.
  • Sealing internal bindings of sewage and other cold pipes.
  • Internal sealing of field welds when making a layer from profiled membranes «Planter».

It is used for fireless laying – where usie of open flame is prohibited. Laying on a flammable base or in a confined and limited space is possible. No additional equipment or special professional skills needed for its application.

 

NICOBAND™ is made by applying adhesive bitumen-polymer binding substance on one side of a foiled UV-proof film. The binding substance consists of bitumen, SIS (sterol-isoprene-sterol) polymer modifier and special adhesive additives. An anti-adhesive polymer film is used as a protecting layer on the gluing side.

Due to the instructions on the individual package of the material, it can be used in all the climatic regions in accordance with СНиП 23-01 (Construction Rules and Regulations).
